LE POITOU-CHARENTES

The Poitou-Charentes is a region of south-west France composed of four counties: Vienne, Charente Maritime, Charente and Deux Sèvres. Blessed with a rural and lush countryside and famous for its vineyards (Cognac and Pineau des Charentes), local produce (Melons) and it’s many different cheeses (Cow, Goat and Sheep), this region is extremely popular with tourists. Furthermore, with its many beautiful towns along the Atlantic coast, different festivals and markets, the Poitou-Charentes is a unique region, blending modernity with tradition, that anyone can enjoy.

Cognac

Beautiful historic town famous for its vineyards and of course Cognac. 

Saintes

Beautiful town in the Charente Maritime. There are weekly markets and loads of great bars and restaurants. 

La Rochelle

The Charente Maritime's largest city. Famous for its beautiful beaches, its fish restaurants and its two towers. 

Royan

The main city of the "Côte de Beauté". Royan is one of the most popular seaside locations on the Atlantic coast. Famous for its beautiful beached and all its summer activities. 

Poitiers

Old capital of the Poitou-Charentes, Poitiers is a historical city situated in the Vienne. The city is also famous for its great Futuroscope theme park.

Angoulême

The largest city in the Charente. The cartoon capital of Europe, famous for its rich history and for its great "Circuit des Ramparts" which takes place every year in September.
